Is This the Rise of A2A

As AI agents become more common, we'll no doubt see the rise of agent-to-agent solutions.

Is This the Rise of A2A

When we consider that the goal of an AI agent is to automate specific scenarios with a level of reasoning to make it's own decisions, it becomes natural that we get to a point where agents start to interact with each other, making an even more powerful creation, (1+1=3). However, to do this effectively, securely you need a common understanding, and here is where Google steps in with their A2A protocol. A host of leading companies (including: Atlassian, PwC, Salesforce, SAP.) are onboard to make this a serious endevour.

The benefits of a common protocol will allow any number of individual agents to partner together to provide far more robust experiences for the end user, whether that's a business or consumer.

How might this look

Having a system that allows a consumer to interact with their travel company to rebook a cancelled flight is enormous. With travel preferences already saved with the travel company, and passenger booking details saved with the airline, the distressed passenger should experience a near seamless process of getting themselves on a new flight, with the two agents to handling all of the back forth together.

"At PwC, we believe the future of enterprise AI lies in seamless collaboration, not just between people and systems, but between agents themselves, which is why we’re proud to support agent2agent in collaboration with PwC’s agent OS, helping set the standard for secure, scalable agent interoperability across the enterprise."
