Google Veo 2.0
Hot on the heels of OpenAI launching their video generation model, Sera, to the public, Google has released an update to their model, Veo, this week. I've yet to get access to Veo, but reading people's initial reviews of it all seem to think it's a more capable model than Sera, especially in regard to how much better real-world physics is represented.

Agentforce 2.0
It doesn't seem that long ago that Salesforce released version one of Agentforce, so it's somewhat of a surprise that they have shipped version two already. What this does confirm, though, is how important Salesforce sees AI agents as a key revenue driver for their business.
"Agentforce 2.0 features enhanced reasoning and data retrieval to deliver precise answers and orchestrate actions in response to complex, multi-step questions."

US Congress Publishes Report on AI
The report emphasises the need to balance the promotion of AI innovation with the protection of citizens from potential risks and harms, including:
- data privacy
- national security
- civil rights
- intellectual property
- workforce implications
The report makes the important distinction between new AI technologies that might need new regulation and existing capabilities where current regulation might need to be adapted. It isn't thought AI regulation will be high up on Trump's immediate to-do list, but the report does provide a blueprint for future actions that Congress can take to address advances in AI technologies.
